Review emails you've sent from your store and track performance of your marketing campaigns
The Communications section of your backoffice tracks scheduled price list emails sent from your Price Lists table, as well as bulk emails sent from your Customers table.
The table shows an overview of your bulk email activity. The following details are shown:
- Campaign: This is the type of email action, and will be one of:
- Price List Email: Either an automatic scheduled price list update email (set up in your Price List settings), or manually sent from the Customers table
- Customer Email: Sent using the Send email option from the Customers table
- Sent: The date and time the emails were sent
- Delivered: Indicates how many of the emails were successfully delivered to the recipients' mailbox
- Opened: Tracks how many of the delivered emails were opened by the recipients
- Clicked: For the Price List emails (which include a button linking to the price list), this column indicates how many times the link was clicked
- Bounced: The number of emails that were rejected by the recipient's email provider will be indicated here
To see a more detailed view of activity for each recipient in a campaign, you can click the Recipients button under Actions:
The cards at the top give you at-a-glance information about your email campaign performance. As more emails are delivered, opened and clicked, these stats will update. The table shows details for each individual recipient:
- Email: The recipients email address (clicking on the email address will launch your browser's configured email handler)
- Status: The status column indicates the most recent event logged for this specific email and recipient. The possible statuses are:
- Dropped: The recipient's email server refused to accept the email. Check to make sure the email address is correct, and that the recipient's mailbox is not over quota. The Dropped status may also indicate that this recipient's email address has previously bounced. If you have verified the email address is correct, please reach out to Local Line Support for further assistance
- Bounce: The receiving server could not or would not accept mail for this recipient. Check to make sure the email address is correct. Note that if a recipient bounces, they may be suppressed from future email campaigns. If you have verified the email address is correct, please reach out to Local Line Support for further assistance
- Delivered: The email was successfully delivered to the recipient's mailbox. Note that in some cases, the email may be filtered as junk/spam, but will still show as successfully delivered. Please have your recipient check their junk or spam email if they don't see it in their inbox
- Opened: The recipient opened and viewed the contents of the email
- Clicked: For Price List emails, indicates that the recipient has clicked on a link within the message. This includes both the included View Store button as well as any additional links you might add in the message body
- Customer: The name of the customer, as well as their company name if available
- Sent: The date and time the email was sent
You can use the search input to search by email address, customer name or company name to find specific recipients. You can also click on the email address to open your browser's configured email handler to send an email, and click on the customer name to open their Customer record
A few notes about email communications and event tracking:
- Customers that are not opted in to email marketing will not be included in the recipient list. You can review customer email subscription preferences either individually in their Customer record, or under the Email sub. heading in the Customers or Price List Members tables
- Some security and privacy software and browsers, as well as email providers such as Proton Mail, may block the event tracking features of marketing emails. In these cases you may only see the Delivered status and not Opened or Clicked
- One-off transactional emails such as order confirmations and payment requests are not tracked in Communications
